"The Farm" 30x24
This acrylic painting was a commission for a friend who wanted a painting of one of his favorite places, their family farm. He wanted a loose style and larger in size, so I chose to use acrylics and many layers to create this painting for him. I didn't get to visit the actual farm, but painted it from photos he took for my reference. I liked the effect of the "naked" trees and how they kind of seemed to surround the barn like guards. He just picked it up today from my studio and can't wait to hang it in his office!

Oh this looks great, Mom! He's already sent Seth a pic of it hanging in his office. :)
ReplyDeleteDenise, this looks like oil. I like the way you painted all the textures and the naked trees are my favorite part!
ReplyDeleteReally like the roof on this barn! Very weathered and aged. Great job! I also like the scumbledey greenish grass then brown on the ground- very realistic. Your friend must be thrilled- great fun:)
ReplyDeleteDenise I really like the rusty look of the barn and the trees surrounding it makes it a lovely composition. This piece is sure to be treasured by your friend.:)
