"Vanity Stash #2" 6x6

"Vanity Stash #2"
6x6 oil on panel

This is another small painting of my new "collection" of nail polish and lipsticks and other cosmetics. Such fun colors and shapes to paint! I used the black ground again and am liking that a lot! A different way of thinking while painting and challenging at first, but easier the more that I do.

This painting is available for purchase in my Etsy shop, Denise Rose Studio.

  1. Very fun and love the highlights on the colors! Does the lipstick start to melt under the lights--could then be a new style of abstract!

  3. Another fun painting, Denise! Is that really green nail polish?

  4. Very nice! I like the way the shadows and lipstick bring you into the composition.

  5. I love the black background, too, and also find it requires a little getting used to! Nice job - love the 'girl' theme! I bought my first-ever Red lipstick a couple of days ago, and feel a painting coming on, too! I have a ways to go to hit your level!

  6. These are both wonderful! That composition looks complicated, I wonder if it took a long time to set up? Lovely colors too.

  7. fabulous! I just bought another lipstick, Revlon is my preference and I need one in every bag. I always buy the same few colors and I feel a painting coming on ;)
I might even be bold enough to follow your example and try the black ground ;)
